Hurricane Katrina Deployment
The students in our classroom are very proud to be a small part of The National Search Dog Foundation. We make and sell homemade dog treats to our staff and student body. The kids are responsible for all aspects of our little business from purchasing ingredients to measuring, preparing, rolling, cutting, and baking the dough. They design and produce the seasonal packaging, count, and package and display the final product. They take care of deliveries, tallying the finances and submitting the deposits. A portion of our profits is donated to the foundation.
Through our involvement with the NDSDF, we learn about intensive and expensive care and training of search dogs so that so that they can do the important jobs that only they can do! We also learn very important lessons about giving time and energy to help someone other than ourselves.
The price of each bag of 10 biscuits is $1.
